After months of preparations and build up, the excitement of race cars ripping through the streets of downtown Baltimore is finally a reality. It’s amazing, actually surreal, to see these finely tuned machines roaring through the same streets we’re used to seeing packed with commuters. Thousands of people have packed the grandstands, grassy areas, and city streets to celebrate this “Festival of Speed”. Besides the orchestra of high-revving race car engines and aroma of race fuel there was plenty of food and drink for race fans. What a great event for our city!

[…] The US Navy Blue Angels were in Baltimore City weekend to help celebrate Baltimore’s “Star-Spangled Salibration” event. The event was a commemoration of Maryland’s unique contributions to the defense and heritage of the nation (in the War of 1812), including the birth of the Star-Spangled Banner.
