At around 7:30 PM on Saturday, January 29th, a call came into 911 reporting a “kitchen fire” at Charles Village Pub in Towson – affectionately known to the local college crowd and regulars as “CVP” (19 W. Pennsylvania Ave). There were patrons inside at the time however they were all able to leave the building unharmed. One firefighter suffered a minor injury as a result of slipping on the slick surfaces outside. As of 9:55, there were still flare-ups on the 2nd floor of the establishment – but the fire was mostly under control. A building next to CVP’s was damaged as firefighters broke through the walls to spray water into the fire within CVP’s. A cause of the fire is not yet known.
